Fresh Like Sushi? WTF….

The Spanish have an expression: It’s ‘Fresh like lettuce’. We find this quite an unusual expression for Spaniards cause fresh lettuce is one thing we have yet to see here. We have seen some incredible displays of freshness at El Mercado de la Boqueria.

From separate booths that specialize in bananas of all sizes – and nothing but bananas of all sizes, beans – where you guessed it they only sell beans, candy, fresh fish, fresh veggies (sin lettuce), jambon, and the list goes on and on. So why the expression fresh like lettuce? I have no clue… but anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit that wants to setup shop here in Spain selling fresh lettuce….we think it’s a license to print money.

So back to Sushi… well… Vancouver has roes and roes of fresh sushi (spelling mistake intended). In fact, Vancouver is rumored to have some of the best sushi outside of Japan, and far cheaper too. So at least in this regard you would have to agree that Fresh Like Sushi is a far better name than Fresh Like Lettuce.

Fresh Like Sushi, cause that’s the way we want to live. Fresh experiences, new adventures and chasing some internal passion that drives us to be.

…and cause we love sushi damn it….fresh sushi!
