Barcelona: Day 3

February 4th, 2007

Took the Bus Turiste all day today to see the main sights of the city. I must say that this is still the best way to start off getting to know a place, having just done two in the past month (Santiago three weeks ago). We basically saw all the main highlights of Barcelona: Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Tibidabo Mountain, the Royal Palace, Montjuic, the Olympic grounds and more!

Mary and Demian continue to be two of the most gracious hosts we have ever had– and they are both sick with colds! Mary made some FANTASTIC mussels last night, and I forgot to mention the made-from-scratch vegetable soup she made for us on our first night, and tonight she is making Coca, a traditional pizza-type dinner with roasted red peppers. I don’t know how we will ever re-pay them for their hospitality, but we are going to start with taking them out to dinner on Tuesday night when they will both feel better and can taste food!

More later!

Shanti
