Vicky’s Stagette, March 10, 2007.

Now I am sure everyone likes to see pictures of male bonding, go-karting and juicy steaks, but this post will have none of that! Welcome to the ultimate stagette post. I would like to add a disclaimer- if you click on the photos, you WILL see pictures of a stripper. No full monties or anything, but there is a lot of skin. So viewer beware… or enjoy!

We also had the great pleasure of having Vicky’s future sister-in-law Angie join us, as well as Anne, who has been a friend and ’sister’ to me for almost 20 years. Anne is the sister of Mary, who stars in many of the posts, and has become another ’sister’ to me. How lucky am I!

We started the evening at Isa’s house, who was a very gracious host and makes a great cocktail.

After we feasted on everyone’s potluck offerings, we watched the most exciting Barca/Madrid football match which was entertaining in more ways than one. Just watching Vicky and Mary spar over which team was better was fun in and of itself. Then of course there was Messi’s hat trick, which we think he did in honour of Vicky’s special night. Indeed, I believe he is from the same small town as Vicky in Argentina.

Right after the match ended, Vicky was informed that she was going to receive a tango lesson. This was something that she always spoke about wanting to do, so this was her big night! But being the intelligent and discerning woman that she is, she was a little skeptical that any tango-ing would be happening at all.

The ‘tango instructor’ arrived, and luckily he was easy on the eyes! He proceeded to set up an area where the lesson would take place, started his tango music, pulled Vicky close and asked her: “Do you know how to tango?”, to which Vicky responded “No” and the ‘instructor’ said “Neither do I”. And the rest shall we say, is history. I’m surprised we could even see the routine for all the flashbulbs going off!

Well, the night was far from over. We all piled into two stretch limousines; for those of you from North America this may seem like no big deal, but for Europe this was huge. We must have turned every head in Barcelona that night, and some very close corners made this a great way to continue on with our night. We drove around Barcelona for an hour and got dropped of at a bar for a drink (or two), and then proceeded to Universal, a great nightclub with awesome music for dancing with a non-smoking floor- excellent! There we stayed until Vicky called it quits at 06:30-wow! Anne and I had not stayed up that late in a LONG time. Well, maybe in Grade 11 at our first semi-formal…A great night all in all, and from what we hear Vicky had a great after party in her bathroom. Don’t all stagettes end this way?
