We are loving our new apartment! It is better than what we had hoped- and for those of you who know us and our crazy expectations, this means it is pretty fabulous! The only things missing are Mary, Demian and a couple of kittycats. Well, with any luck this will become their second home for the next several months!

Our apartment is in the Borne, which seems like the Yaletown of Barcelona. A very trendy ‘up and coming’ neighbourhood, with cool shops and restaurants, as well as an incredible ice cream shop (Tomo II).

I have been in the kitchen cooking more than I have ever been in any kitchen cumulatively over the course of my entire life! But it has been fun cooking up durada a la sal, vegetable lasagna, garbanzo madras curry and calamari. And Kalan makes a mean Nicoise salad, which you can see Mary enjoys!

One day I am hoping to try a tortilla, but for now I will continue to reminisce about the one Mary made back when we were still squatting. Another VERY valuable thing I have learned from Mary: All Clad pots and pans are the cooking vehicles of choice. Even with my novice experience, I must agree with this wholeheartedly, and I look forward to my own set one day.
